I provide psychotherapy in a warm, supportive environment using a diverse set of clinically appropriate methods which foster people's understanding of their own strengths, exploration of their uniqueness and a determination of where and how to make changes in their lives.

I strive to make the therapeutic space as safe and comfortable as possible.

​

In addition to my undergrad and graduate degrees, I have advanced training and hold certificates in: 

​

  • Advanced Psychodynamic Psychotherapy - University of Chicago

  • Divorce Mediation - Northwestern University

  • Sexual Health - Sex Therapy - University of Michigan.   

 

I am committed to staying current with the latest research in my field and frequently participate in case consultation to gain my trusted and accomplished colleagues’ additional perspectives and ideas on the work I provide.

Using Insurance

I recognize that understanding your insurance coverage is important and knowing how to use your insurance benefits can be confusing.  There are many variables across insurance company policies these days whether your coverage is through an employer, a school or through the individual healthcare exchanges.  

​

I'm happy to take a few minutes to talk to you about what specific questions to ask your insurance company so you feel more comfortable about what is covered and what your responsibility will be.

I am "In-network" and considered a preferred/participating provider with the following insurance companies/carriers:

  • Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO   (Please note: I am not a "preferred" BlueChoice PPO provider --- The important and ironic word here is CHOICE.  I know it’s confusing but Blue Cross decided to do this...

​

​​

  • UnitedHealthcare and United Behavioral Health/Optum

​

  • Medicare

 

If you don't see your insurance company listed above, it just means that I'm not considered "in-network" with them, however most PPO insurance plans have "out of network" benefits.   Even if I'm not in-network with your insurance company, I am happy to file the insurance claim electronically on your behalf as a courtesy to you. I often see people with Cigna, Aetna and other policies.

I also offer a sliding fee schedule for those who do not wish to use their insurance benefit.
